Thank you for using Best MCP (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy outlines how we handle your information when you use our informational website (bestmcp.net) and our remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers (e.g., service_name.bestmcp.net).
Our core principle is to minimize data collection and ensure that you remain in control of your personal information.
1. Information We Do Not Collect or Store
When you use Best MCP’s remote MCP servers, we are designed to be a pass-through service.
- Third-Party Account Credentials: We do not ask for, collect, or store your passwords for third-party services like Google, Evernote, etc. Authentication is handled directly between your MCP client, our server, and the respective third-party service via their native OAuth 2.0 flows.
- Authentication Tokens: Access and refresh tokens for third-party services are managed by your MCP client and the
mcp-remotepackage if the client uses it, on your local machine/device. These tokens are forwarded by your MCP client with requests to our MCP servers but are not stored by Best MCP’s infrastructure. - Content of Your Data: Best MCP servers do not store the content of your data that passes through them (e.g., the content of your emails, notes, or files). Our servers act as a proxy to fetch information from your connected services and deliver it to your MCP client.
2. Information We May Collect
2.1. Website (bestmcp.net)
- Analytics: Our informational website
bestmcp.netmay use standard analytics tools to collect anonymous usage data, such as pages visited and browser type. This helps us improve the website. We do not attempt to link this anonymous data with any personally identifiable information. - Cookies: The website may use cookies for analytics and to enhance user experience. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.
2.2. Remote MCP Servers (e.g., service_name.bestmcp.net)
- Usage Metadata: We will collect anonymized metadata to count usage of the MCP servers. This metadata is strictly limited to:
- An anonymized or service-specific user identifier (e.g., your Google Account ID, but not your email address itself).
- The number of requests or queries made to the server.
- The type of tool used.
- Timestamps of requests. This information will be used solely for the purpose of counting usage. We will not log the content of your queries or responses.
- Operational Logs: Our servers (Cloudflare Workers) may generate temporary operational logs for troubleshooting, security, and performance monitoring. These logs may contain IP addresses and request details but are not used for tracking individual users and are retained for a limited period.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To Provide the Service: Information (specifically, the forwarded tokens by your client) is used to facilitate communication between your MCP client and your chosen third-party services.
- To Improve Our Website: Anonymous analytics data helps us understand website traffic and improve
bestmcp.net. - For Usage Counting: Anonymized metadata will be used to count server usage.
- To Maintain Security and Performance: Operational logs help us ensure our services are secure and performing optimally.
4. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, except in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: We may use third-party service providers for:
- Website hosting (WordPress).
- Server infrastructure (Cloudflare Workers).
- (Future) Payment processing (Stripe). These providers have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them. They are only given access to the information necessary to perform their functions.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect and defend our rights or property, prevent fraud, act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of the Service, or protect against legal liability.
5. Data Security
We implement technical and administrative measures designed to protect the information we handle.
- HTTPS: All communication with
bestmcp.netand our remote MCP server URLs is over HTTPS. - Token Handling: As stated, tokens are primarily managed client-side. When tokens are forwarded to our MCP servers, they are used for the immediate request and not stored persistently by us.
- Minimized Data Storage: We adhere to a policy of minimizing data collection and storage.
6. User Control and Choice
- Authorization: You control the authorization of our MCP servers to access your third-party service accounts through the standard OAuth consent screens provided by those services. You can typically revoke these permissions at any time through your account settings with the respective third-party service (e.g., Google Account permissions).
- Client-Side Data: You control the MCP client on your device, which manages your tokens.
- Website Cookies: You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.
7. Third-Party Services
Our MCP servers connect to third-party services (e.g., Google, Evernote). Your use of these services is governed by their respective privacy policies and terms of service. Best MCP is not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services.
8. Children’s Privacy
Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 13 (or a higher age threshold depending on your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information.
